Eddie James Completes Gospel Session
International gospel recording artist EDDIE JAMES has been tracking vocals for his new EMI Records cd with staff engineer Mike Tosspon. The new album is scheduled for worldwide release later 2008.

Associations of Unity Churches International
We've completed tracking and mixing on a new music track for Unity. "WE ARE UNITY" was produced for the Radio Media Department by Barb Quinn. The track included drums, bass, acoustic guitar, grand piano, synth keyboard, violin and a 6 piece vocal chorus. This inspirational track with be used in a new video production.

Recording Legend Visits Studio
International recording artist Marilyn Maye graced Studio C recently to work on a project for author and producer Richard Ward Fatherley. The session was part of a project for Richard's up coming book about the radio industry and singing radio ID's. Marilyn was a session singer in the mid 1950's, recording many sessions at Damon Studios. The same studio where engineer Chuck Chapman started his career in the early 1970's. Both worked for the recording pioneer Victor Damon.
 
Grammy Nominees Shawn Mullins & Iris Dement
Two grammy nominees, Shawn Mullins and Iris Dement, collaborated long distance in Studio B on a recent vocal session. Iris Dement was in to record vocals on, "Cabbagetown", a track for Shawn's new album. Shawn had a platinum hit in 1998 with "Lullaby".

Jazz Greats Track New Album
World famous jazz musicians Roberto Magris, Dr. Art Davis and Jimmy "Junebug" Jackson graced Studio B recently to
track songs for a new cd. Also shown is manger Paul Collins
 
 
Woods Chapel Church United Methodist Church Band
The big band from Lee's Summit Woods Chapel Church recorded songs for an up coming cd project. The sessions were organized by Dave Baerg of Prizm Productions. The session was tracked in sections starting with drums, bass and piano followed by brass and woodwinds.
 
MY REWARD - CD Project
Pastor Dustin Smith and group putting the finishing touches on a new project in Studio B with engineer Rob
Rebeck. The album features a number of great area musicians and singers.

James Wright & Friends / The Start Of Something Big
Vocalist James Wright has started his new cd project assisted by producer and bassist James Albright,
piano player Fred Albers, organist Ken Lavern, drummer Keith Mallory and trumpeter Stan Kessler. The project
covers a collection of Broadway type tunes with a spiritual message. Rob Rebeck is doing the engineering.

Buck Owens Tribute - Iris Dement & Jann Browne
CMA "Best New Artist" nominee Jann Browne requested Iris Dement to do harmony vocal on her new cd "Buckin' Around".
The project features a long list of national recording artists including Owens' steel player Jay Dee Maness, Desert Rose
Bands' Bill Bryson and Merle Haggards' Scott Loss. Plan B Records contacted Chapman Recording to handle the Midwest
recording side of this unique project.
 
Iris Dement & Teddy Thompson / Vox Session
International recording artist Teddy Thompson was in recording vocals and piano tracks with Grammy nominee Iris
Dement. The vintage acoustic track features Teddy's lead vocal, dobro, cello, Iris's vocal and grand piano track. The

Swing DeVille / Mixed & Mastered
Kansas City's own SWING DeVILLE has just finished their new cd, "SWING DeVILLE", and hit the road to promote
and support it. The tracks were cut by fiddle player Matt Wyatt at his Grubville Studios and mixed at Chapman Recording. A superb mastering job was done by our own Neil Simpson. The project really swings and sound just fantastic.

Dewayne Woods Reaches #5 On Billboard Gospel Charts
We're excited about the work we've been doing with national gospel artist Dewayne Woods for Zomba Records.
Dewayne is one of the most talented gospel artists to come along in a long time. Some of the tracks recorded
where written by PJ Morton, all session were engineered by Rob Rebeck. The album went on to garner four
nominations of the "STELLAR GOLD" awards with "LET GO" reaching #5 on Billboards gospel charts

Jolly Rogers / CD From Festival Favorite
Kansas City based Jolly Rogers Band has been in Studio B recording a new cd. The band has been a local
favorite of the Renaissance Festival for many years. The project was engineered by our good friend Don James.
 
Granner & Bledsoe
The duo of Nathan Granner and Beau Bledsoe have been mixing tracks in Studio B with freelance engineer
Sam Platt. The album is being mastered by Chapman Recording and due out in the fall to support a national tour.

Kathryn Howe / CD Project
Classically trained singer Kathryn Howe has just completed a cd project with Robert Rebeck. The
vocals on these sessions is quite amazing. Watch for this very talented artist in your area soon!

Birthday Session / The Girls Can Sing
Birthday girl Rachel Stang and friends - Eden Kreigbaum, Grace Ryan, Anna Redmond and Lily Riederer recorded
several karaoke songs in Studio B with staff engineer Evan Clark. A good time was had by all!

MTV / Cutting Tracks For Reality TV
Simple Plan lead singer Pierre Bouvier was in Studio B recording tracks for MTV's reality show "DAMAGE
CONTROL". The audio will be used in an upcoming episode and was engineered by Evan Clark.

Austin Based Gary Clark Jr. Cuts Soundtrack
With the "LENEXA ONE MILE" movie being shot in Kansas City the films producers decided to cut music for the film
here as well. The very talent Gary Clark Jr. Band was in Studio B with Chapman Recording engineer Robert Rebeck.
Gary Clark Jr. is nationally know for his guitar chops and earthly style. The band flew in from Austin to recording and
perform on camera along with William Baldwin, Jennifer Hall (also on the recording sessions), Michael Beach, Chris Klein,
Austin Nichols, the son of the late John Ritter Jason Ritter, Michael Rooker, Josh Stewart and Paul Wesley. The project is
being directed by Jason Wiles of NBC's THIRD WATCH fame.

American Jazz Museum / Jazz Poetry Jam
Chapman Recording is proud to be involved with Kansas City's American Jazz Museum and their "Jazz Poetry
Jams". These live events are held monthly at the Blue Room.

Star102 CD / Habitat For Humanity
Chapman Recording is proud to be part of radio station Star102's Christmas CD project. Some of the artists
involved in STARS OF THE SEASON are Amy Grant, Elton John, Diana Krall, Lee Ann Womack and Boyz To Men.
Our song, "Christmas in Kansas", is the only local cut and was written and performed by Brad Millison. Some
of the great musicians who played on the track are Bruce and Mark Sidener, Bob Blount, and Jack Mulligan.

East Side Baptist Church
Worship pastor Ron Driscoll has been producing a new cd with church members for East Side Baptist Church.
The church's band first tracked the rhythm section and then the choir was over-dubbed.

Jazz Great Queen Bey / Narration For Kansas Tourism
Shown above in Studio B with engineer/producer Chuck Chapman is jazz great Queen Bey. The Queen was
in house recording a track for "A Quest For Freedom", a production by First Generation Video for the Kansas State of Tourism.

Doghouse Jazz Band / Out Of The Blues
Regional jazz group Doghouse Jazz has completed their new album "Out Of The Blues". The cd features hits
from the songbooks of Count Basie, \Billie Holiday, Peggy Lee, Duke Ellington and Louis Jordan. The material
is present in a small-group swing style and features singer Melissa Koch, pianist Blake Foutes, guitarist Herb
Bain, drum Gary Bierschwal and bassist Don Rumsey. Guest musicians include Mark Cohick on clarinet/sax, Carl
Bender on sax and Don Hatfield on clarinet.
 
 

Land and Hildebrand / Ballads, Babies and barbecue
Christian recording artists Paul Land and Ray Hildebrand have been camped out in Studio B tracking a new
album, "Ballads, Babies and barbecue", for Corner Lot Productions. This is the groups 5th album with Chuck
Chapman and CRS. The project is being produced by Lisa Eaton, Curt Bartlett, Brett Francis and features some
of the regions greatest session players, drums - Doug Dimmel, guitar - Curt Bartlett, piano - Sam Beckett and
bass - Rob Eaton. Nashville session singer Mark Stephens was flown in to round out the backing vocal group of
Lisa Eaton, Sam Beckett and Donna Thomas. L & H are well known for their "Phrogs, Pharaoh's & Phorgiveness"
and Rays "Hey Hey Paula" hit from the '60's. (pictured top L-R: Paul Land, Ray Hildebrand, Curt Bartlett, The

Pop Group Dream / MTV & AOL Tour
Pop group DREAM arrived at 6am recently for a project in Studio B. With hours to spare before a Sandstone
concert the group recorded tracks for an AOL promotion as well as 20 interviews with radio stations all over
the country. The project was produced by Medialink and engineered by Chuck Chapman.

Songs of Faith / Contemporary Jewish Worship
National Voice Over talent Roberta Solomon recently proved she has a musical side with the production of a
new cd by her group "YACHAD, The Traveling Tefillah Band". The project includes traditional songs of the Jewish
faith and features regional cantors, vocalists and musicians.
  
  
Let Freedom Sing
Regional and local recording artists came together to create "Let Freedom Sing, A Tribute To The Heroes Of
September 11th, 2001", a new cd to raise funds for the New York and Washington attacks. The project was
produced by KSHB NBC TV 41 and included Ida McBeth, Connie Dover, Brody Buster, Angela Hagangbach,
Bukeka & Jerome Johnson, Bobby Watson, Buck O'Neil, Kim Lord, David Basse, Danny Cox, The Shennagins
and The Kansas City Choral.

JEWEL / A Night Without Armor
Our Studio B was host to recording artist JEWEL. Brought in by New York based Harper Collins Publishing
for a book on tape, she also tracked several guitar pieces for transitions between chapters. The entire album
was recording at Chapman Recording and sessions were produced by Rick Harris. "A NIGHT WITHOUT ARMOR"
became a New York Times Best Seller and won the 1999 Audie Award for Best Poetry recording.

Portfolio Released / Kathryn Lorenzen
Regional songwriter and recording artist Kathryn Lorenzen has released her new album "Portfolio" on the Flora's
Radio Music Label. The cd was co-produced by Chad Watson of Janis Ian fame and engineered by Chuck Chapman.
The project features all original material performed by the best players in the region. Just some of the great
musicians include Jeff Pevaron electric guitar (David Crosby's guitar player), Kelly Hunt on piano, Pat Tomek,
(Rainmakers) on drums, Allan Rich, (Charlie Rich's son) on background vocals, George Pearce on mandolin and
Mike Matheny on flugelhorn.

Kimberly Lord No. 2 / The "Happy" Project
Recording artist Kimberly Lord is back in Studio B producing here cd project "Happy". The sessions feature
some of the regions best musicians including Kim Park.

PBS Film Music / Tallgrass/InLand Sea
Composer/producer John Mistler directs International Celtic Music Star Connie Dover on over-dubs for
Inland Sea film " The Tallgrass Prairie".

Session Player / Carol Kaye
Pictured above is one of the greatest session players of all time, bass player Carol Kaye. Chapman Recording
had the pleasure of working with Carol for a major Kansas City project. Carol has played bass on hits for the Beach
Boys, Sonny and Cher, The Righteous Brothers, Dean Martin, Sam Cooke, The Isley Brothers and thousand more.

Luther "Guitar Jr." Johnson / Legendary Blue Artist
Grammy winner and Blues legend Luther Johnson and some of Chicago's best know sidemen recorded
the "Save Me One" album at Chapman Recording.

Freddie Hart / Country Legend
Grammy winner and CMA "Artist of The Year" two years running recorded several country and gospel projects with
Chuck Chapman and Chapman Recording. Their production of "Rumor Has It" topped the charts at #68 and
received great reviews throughout the industry.

Grammy nominee and Warner Brothers recording artist Iris Dement tracks a vocal for the "Boys and Girls Club of Kansas
City". Also involved with the project were Rainmakers Bob Walkenhorst, jazz great Kevin Mahogany and blues artist Kelly Hunt.

Shelly West & David Frizzell / Country Duo
Grammy nominee and CMA "Duo Of Year" David Frizzel and Shelly west doing tracks with Chapman Recording while
out on tour. The group has dozens of CMA and Grammy awards and nomination.

New Yamaha C 7 Grand Piano Added To Studio B
We are proud to announce the addition of a brand new 7' 6" Yamaha C grand piano to our arsenal of keyboards in Studio B. This
beautiful instrument has the finest sound and touch of any piano made. Most professional studios consider the C7 to be the the best sounding recording piano in the world.
